TH03 Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary – NEW | 2024 | $20 – SOLD OUT
Time - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Trip Leader(s): Rob Fowler
What does one need to say about the Arcata Marsh: NOT MUCH!!!!!…. Except, it is the best birding location in Northwestern California with currently 342 species that have occurred here (with the recent Purple Gallinule being #343!). Sure, we have dawn choruses and shorebird fly-off trips scheduled at the Marsh every day during the festival. And there’s an Audubon-sponsored marsh walk every. Dang. Saturday of the year. But, have you gone on a Godwit Days trip specifically at the Marsh to enjoy ALL the birds and habitats found at this legend of a location? No? Well, do yourself a favor and sign up. NOW!! (did we say……..NOW?!). This is a great trip for birders that have never birded in Humboldt County before.
Bird species seen at the Arcata Marsh during April, view here.
MEETING LOCATION: Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center Parking lot on South G Street in Arcata. Terrain is mostly flat on maintained trails.
